Project statement / English
In this project, I investigate the visual entanglement between artificial nature and human agency. By documenting staged environments, decorative greenery, and synthetic landscapes in urban spaces, I examine how “nature” has become a surface for projection—designed, consumed, and mediated under the logic of late capitalism.
Referencing Jean Baudrillard’s theory of simulacra and Timothy Morton’s critique of ecological idealism, the work questions how natural imagery is emptied of its ecological function and reinserted into the cultural economy as aesthetic commodity. At the same time, posthumanist thought offers a framework to consider how humans and environments co-shape each other through intervention and adaptation.
By visually tracing moments where natural forms are modified, fabricated, or symbolically replaced, I explore the tension between ecological authenticity and human control. These images do not aim to recover a “pure” nature, but instead to highlight how every encounter with nature is already mediated—between intention and consequence, imitation and erosion.
